Karissa Andujar is an up and coming artist from the Westchester area. Her relationship with art began when she was a child living in Union City, New Jersey. Art became her outlet for self preservation as she navigated life, love, loss and change. Karissa works mainly in pencil, ink and acrylic paint, but isn’t afraid to let her art take her where it needs to go. Art Reborn: 100 Mannequins is Karissa’s first show and her official introduction into the art world. Her piece entitled, Caught Up, is a statement on mental illness and the frightfully confusing balance, that a person may struggle with to maintain, between feeling grounded and free-falling into an abyss of the mind’s inner turmoil. Karissa works to use her art to help gain awareness for those who silently struggle every day.
