Marianne Goldstein

Marianne Goldstein is a native of New York City and now resides in New City, New York. She started drawing as a child but it wasn’t until she was a young adult when she started to dabble in art courses.  The first art course was Art History at Columbia University and she was hooked. She also took a few courses at night at Marymount Manhattan College in Manhattan and an art workshop with Mary White in Charleston. Marianne kept painting throughout her life as a hobby, until she retired from a health - related 40 year career.

Now Marianne works full- time as an artist from her studio in Sullivan County, New York. She is inspired by her love of the ocean, lakes, flowers and the every day beauty that surrounds us. In portraiture, Marianne can capture the essence of each subject, especially the depth of the eyes which she believes are the windows of the soul.

Acrylic, watercolor, pastel are her mediums of choice and occasionally she uses pencil.

She exhibits and sells her work online at Saatchi Art and at local galleries and shows.

She has also donated over 5 thousand dollars of her artwork to the Madeline Foundation LoRe Foundation and the Hudson Valley Humane Society.

The Ocean City Art League honored Marianne with 2nd prize at their 2020 art show.

She has been invited to many juried shows such as the Carriage Barn Arts Center juried Annual Show and Annual Juried Greenwich Art Society Exhibit.
